Lost Separator

Call our office if you lose a separator during treatment. It’s usually not an urgent issue, but we’ll assess if it needs to be replaced to keep your treatment on track.

Sore Teeth/Discomfort with Orthodontic Treatment

Are you experiencing soreness after getting braces or an adjustment? Take pain relievers, rinse with warm salt water, or use a heating pad to ease discomfort while your mouth adjusts to your new braces.

Wire Irritations

Relieve wire irritation by gently moving the wire with a cotton swab or eraser. If that doesn’t help, cover the end with cotton or wax to avoid further discomfort until you can see us.

Loose Bracket

If your bracket is loose, contact our office to see if it needs refitting. If necessary, use sterilized nail clippers to trim the wire, and schedule a repair appointment soon.

Loose Wire

If your wire is loose, gently reposition it with sterilized tweezers or cover the end with wax. If cutting is required, use sterilized nail clippers and cut behind the last bracket.
